Data Overview

Cybersyn’s Unified Schema

All Cybersyn products follow the EAV (entity, attributes, value) model with a unified schema. Entities are tangible objects (e.g. geography, company) that Cybersyn provides data on. All time series’ dates and values that refer to the entity are included in a time series table. Descriptors of the time series are included in an attributes table. Data is joinable across all Cybersyn products that have a GEO_ID. Visit Cybersyn docs for more details.

Data Sources

Example Topics:
  • Daily weather events (e.g. temperature, precipitation) across 180 countries
  • Greenhouse gas emissions including carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases (F-gases) by country, source, and sector
  • Greenhouse gas emissions related to agriculture, forestry, and other land use activities
  • Global temperature change
  • Energy consumption per dollar by country

ESG Investment Analysis

Assess the carbon intensity of electricity for countries around the globe.

Risk Analysis

This data can be used by insurance agencies to assess climate-related risks in an area or to validate claims related to weather events.

Location Planning

Inform real estate investment decisions and retail location planning by analyzing weather trends within specific zip codes or regions on a global scale. Understand environmental (weather/fire) risks associated within the US.

Location Data Enrichment

Location data can be enriched by understanding historical weather events and trends.

Economic Impact Analysis

The data can be utilised in economic and policy analysis by joining to other datasets to analyse correlation and infer causality between weather events and other variables of interest.

Fraud Remediation

Verification of certain disaster-related events and the associated geographies. Analyse claims data to understand flood risk and new flood patterns and set appropriate premiums.
